Sharjah to Trivandrum Flights
Great Stay at Trivandrum Makes Business Meet Successful
My father was an officer in the Indian Ordinance Factories Service. Because of the nature of his job, I got the opportunity to grow up across the length & breadth of the country. But one place I had never been to was Kerala. Luckily, I got the opportunity to visit God’s Own Country last year for a business meeting. My journey by Air Arabia from Sharjah to Trivandrum was a smooth one.
I reached the city during the afternoon, a little later than the projected time. I stayed at a hotel located on the Manorama Road, one of the prime locations of the city. The hotel was well-equipped with the best quality of amenities. My room was well equipped with a luggage rack, hangers, writing desk and telephone. Therefore, I didn’t feel uncomfortable during my stay here. The contemporary décor of the hotel room made me feel at home. Here are some of the major aspects of my stay which made my Trivandrum trip worth sharing: -
Exploring the city
I used to spend the greater part of my day attending business conferences. But I was more or less free during the evenings. So, I got ample time to explore the capital of Kerala. My first destination was the Neyyar Dam & Wildlife Sanctuary. Located at a short distance from the city, it is located at the foot of the Western Ghats. The sanctuary is home to a diverse range of flora & fauna. From elephants & wild boars to different types of medicinal herbs, it is an ideal place for nature lovers. The lion safari park, crocodile farm and deer park within the sanctuary attract a lot of wildlife lovers from different parts of India.
My next destination was the Anjengo Fort. Located close to Varkala, it was constructed in the 16th century by the English East India. The fort was first settlement of the British in Kerala. The queen of Attingal allowed the East India Company to establish the fort & trading settlements in the region.
The ruins of the fort, which has withstood numerous sieges stand testimony to the British influence here. It was one of the major military outposts of the British in the Malabar. A church is located at a short distance from here. The fort is situated close to the Anchuthengu Beach. Visiting the fort made me feel as if I was travelling back in time.
Leaving for Sharjah
I stayed in Trivandrum for five days during which I explored the city making the best use of my limited free time. The people were in general accommodative and friendly by nature. Unlike other big cities of south India, Trivandrum has a steady pace of life. It helped me reflect on many important aspects of my life.
As I took the return using the common route of Sharjah to Trivandrum flights, I felt a longing to come back to my country and settle here for good.
